Monkey Around
This order was for a very special little boy turning 1! Happy birthday to Christopher! The cake is a 3 tier cake - 6 inch sweet cream with vanilla buttercream, 8 inch milk chocolate with chocolate buttercream, 10 inch sweet cream with vanilla buttercream. Monkeys, palm trees, coconuts, bananas are all fondant. 1 and CMC are fondant/gumpaste mix.
Smash cake is sweet cream with vanilla buttercream.
Cookies are sugar cookies with royal icing.
Whew! This was a fun order, but lots of work! I'm guessing it took a total of 16-20 hours for everything! WOW! It was worth it though!

Waiting for Payton!
My sister is due to have my first sweet niece in early June. We traveled 8 hours with these cakes to Alabama for two baby showers to get ready for Payton Olivia's arrival. The owl cake was made to match the invitations for shower number 1 and the bird cake went with the theme for shower number 2. Both were so much fun to work on! Each cake had a layer of milk chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and a layer of sweet cream cake with chocolate buttercream. The owl cake has 8 and 10 inch layers. The bird cake has 6 and 10 inch layers.
The baby shoe cookies were part of the dessert table at the bird shower. Those are sugar cookies with royal icing and fondant buttons.

Valentine cookies
I made several different Valentine cookies this year.
These cute little bears were for a teddy bear picnic on Valentine's day. They are holding a heart that is also a cookie which was baked and decorated separately and then attached to the teddy bear with a bit of icing.
These conversation hearts proclaim classmate names rather than declarations of love, but they are just as heartfelt.
And these pretty hearts are a very sweet way to say Happy Valentine's Day!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!
Made for a 4 year old's birthday party. This is one of my favorite cakes so far. So cute, yet simple! I loved it. I had 4 little girls of my own begging for Rapunzel birthdays for themselves this year when I made this one!
Cake is a 10 inch sweet cream cake with vanilla buttercream. Tower is rice krispy treats. Rapunzel is fondant.
These were castle cookies made for the same little girl for her class snack at school. They are sugar cookies with royal icing.

Basket of Apples
This seemed an appropriate first day of school snack. You know - an apple for the teacher. In any case, everyone liked them and it was anothe fun thing for my girls to get excited about for the first day of school. However, I must say that after 18 cookies for Annlee's class, 20 for Kaylin's and 30ish for Maryella's, I'm not anxious to make more anytime in the coming days.
